Holcim México is investing MX$53 million to replace its ready-mix concrete distribution fleet across the Monterrey metropolitan area with 27 new mixer trucks.
Sixteen units had been delivered and put into operation by October 28; the remaining 11 are expected to join in November. Each truck carries eight cubic meters.
The 30% productivity gain is a company estimate
Mexico Business News reports that Holcim estimates the 27 new trucks can handle the workload of 35 vehicles from the previous fleet, a projected 30% gain in productivity per vehicle. The outlet notes that the company did not disclose its calculation method, so the figure remains an estimate rather than a measured operating result.
