The package is framed as part of Mexico’s industrial policy push (Plan México). For Nuevo Leon operators, the practical question is how quickly local suppliers can ramp content from an initial ~27% and what new energy and utilities loads the upgraded line will require.
Why it matters
An EV program anchored in Pesqueria tends to pull in tooling, plastics, electronics and logistics work across the Monterrey corridor. The announced job ramp (500 in 2026 plus 1,500 more through 2030) is modest on day one, but it’s the supplier pipeline that usually drives the bigger second-order employment.
