Nuevo León mobility secretary Hernán Villarreal said repairs to the storm-drain system near Avenida Venustiano Carranza in Monterrey would begin after the main work at Gonzalitos. Milenio reported on October 27 that the state had not set a date.

Milenio traced the drainage damage to Metro Line 4 construction near Constitución and Venustiano Carranza. The state and Monterrey agreed to address Gonzalitos first, then return to the drain; the reported sequence is intended to avoid disrupting both traffic areas at once.

El Norte reported that Mota-Engil, the contractor building the new Metro lines, would cover the repair cost. It gave no amount, and neither outlet reported a start or completion date for the Venustiano Carranza work.
