Workers were evacuated from Indalum in San Nicolás on September 16 after a fire started in a tank holding hazardous residue, according to El Norte. The company operates a plant for aluminum profiles, Milenio reported.
The incident was reported near López Mateos and Juan Pablo II. El Norte reported that more than 400 workers were evacuated; other coverage described at least 200 employees leaving the site. The difference is a reminder to keep the count attributed rather than treat it as settled.
Fire controlled before the next shift entered
Milenio reported that Bomberos de Nuevo León and the municipal fire service controlled the fire, that no injuries were reported, and that incoming afternoon-shift workers were held back until the risk was removed. Staff were then told they could begin work.
