Soriana Sets MX$961M Retail Expansion With Nuevo León Stores

Organización Soriana will invest more than MX$961 million during the second half of 2026 to open, reopen, and remodel stores, with Nuevo León among the states receiving part of the rollout.

The plan covers three new or reopened stores in Nuevo León and Veracruz, adding more than 18,000 square meters of commercial space and more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs across those locations. The reports do not break out Nuevo León's exact share.

Twenty-one existing stores in the remodel queue

A further 21 Híper and Súper stores in Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Coahuila, and Nuevo León are included in the remodeling plan. Soriana has not published a state-by-state allocation of the budget or floor area.

The omnichannel role of the stores

The company describes the work as a way to connect its physical network with digital ordering. El Cronista reported that Soriana operates 760 self-service stores and that digital supermarket sales had grown by more than 60%, while the company is using selected locations as infrastructure for online orders.
