Businesses in Monterrey’s Barrio de la Luz closed after residents reported more than 28 hours without electricity, with the outage beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, El Norte reported Monday.
A separate report from El Horizonte places the response in nearby Barrio Antiguo, where CFE and Canirac Nuevo León met and walked the area to review maintenance, reinforcement, and faster response protocols for the restaurant corridor.
Underground vaults and restaurant load
The infrastructure issue is partly below street level: El Horizonte reported that CFE needs Agua y Drenaje de Monterrey to clear water and sediment from underground vaults and registers, while Canirac asked businesses to request electrical load studies and keep grease traps and drains clear so technical work is not delayed.
