The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) says its extraordinary maintenance and modernization program in the Monterrey metropolitan area is 79% complete after a review of 519 circuits. The work includes replacing 942 poles, 3,208 insulators and 1,038 damaged fittings.
For businesses that depend on predictable power, the useful detail is the scope of the remaining work: CFE says crews will continue through September, October and November across distribution equipment, substations, subtransmission lines and underground networks.
The work still scheduled through November
The program has also treated 31,157 trees near the network, normalized 38 of 42 out-of-service substation breakers, reviewed 194 protection schemes and completed 2,215 priority subtransmission jobs. CFE says 60 underground feeder trunks are being rehabilitated and three mobile substations are already operating at Juárez Norte, Real de Palmas and Valle del Roble.
