Nuevo León's manufacturing sector added 31,585 formal jobs from January through August 2026, while the state recorded 51,753 new formal jobs across all sectors, according to Mexico Business News' Week 38 report on Mexico trade and investment.
That employment result sits alongside Caintra Nuevo León's latest outlook, reported by El Horizonte: the state economy is projected to grow 2.44% in 2026, with 72,908 new jobs in total and 28,321 of them in manufacturing.
The 2026 employment forecast
The two reports point to manufacturing as the clearest near-term hiring engine in Nuevo León. El Horizonte also reports that the sector accounts for 34.3% of the state's internal economic activity and more than 682,000 formal jobs, while Caintra expects manufacturing production to advance 5.1% by year-end.
