Nuevo León added 51,753 formal jobs from January through August 2026, with manufacturing accounting for 31,585 positions and construction for another 11,628, according to figures from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).
Manufacturing was the state’s largest source of new formal employment in the period. The August update gives companies a clearer read on hiring demand in the industrial base and on the construction activity supporting it.
Manufacturing supplied 31,585 of the new jobs
The state recorded 5,317 manufacturing jobs in August alone, after the sector lost 1,060 positions in August 2025. Services added 10,107 jobs from January through August, while transportation added 833.
