Nuevo León is operating 4,000 new buses across metropolitan and high-demand routes while construction continues on Monterrey's Metro Lines 4 and 6, according to separate reports by El Horizonte and Expansión.
The split is practical: buses are being added now, while the rail project is the longer-term capacity bet. El Horizonte reports 30 units added to Routes 227 and 128 in the western basin and 25 buses delivered to Route 160 between Guadalupe and Apodaca.
Metro viaduct at 95.5% on September 7
Expansión reported that the viaduct for Lines 4 and 6 was 95.5% complete on September 7, with station construction at 56.6%. The monorail project is projected to enter service in 2028; reported investment was about MX$22.02 billion through March, against an estimated total cost of MX$37 billion.
Route 160 reaches more than 164,000 users
The Route 160 Guadalupe–Apodaca service is estimated to cover more than 164,000 users. The bus rollout is being paired with the Metro lines, Transmetro expansion, and new passenger shelters, giving operators a network change to manage before the rail lines open.
