Companies in Nuevo León increased purchases from small and medium-sized suppliers by more than MX$14.5 billion from January through July 2026, according to El Horizonte. Separately, Caintra’s Expo Pyme 2026 event at Cintermex was expected to generate MX$14.5 billion in business activity, Mexico Business reported.

The common thread is local sourcing: Caintra is trying to connect Pymes with manufacturers that want to replace some Asian inputs, while giving smaller companies access to financing, mentoring and purchasing conversations.

44.8% of purchases at 26 companies

Among 26 companies participating in Caintra’s +PyMEx initiative, the share of purchases made from Pymes rose from 36.9% to 44.8% during 2026. Since the program began in 2022, it has reported more than US$2.59 billion in additional purchases from smaller suppliers.

More than 100 large buyers at Cintermex

Expo Pyme’s business-matching program connected Pymes with more than 100 large purchasing companies. Caintra also said more than 140 Pymes have received mentoring, and El Horizonte reported a financing agreement with Afirme aimed at about 4,500 affiliated Pymes.
