Caintra Nuevo León’s Expo Pyme 2026 will bring more than 100 buying companies, about 300 purchasing executives and more than 1,500 product and service requirements to the state from September 8 to 10. The business chamber expects the event to generate up to MX$14.5 billion in business activity and more than 3,000 effective buyer-supplier meetings.
The expansion is practical rather than flashy: the event is opening its supplier search to companies from other Mexican states and the United States, while putting local manufacturing, logistics, construction, technology, materials, machinery and tools in the same room. Caintra also says 11 banks will be present for the first time, giving smaller companies a clearer view of financing options.
Why it matters
For Monterrey’s industrial ecosystem, the useful signal is the matchmaking capacity. El Horizonte reports that the business-meeting area will grow 20%, from 8,116 to 9,757 square meters, with more than 10,000 applications already received. The target is 3,000 completed meetings, up from 2,500 in 2025.
Milenio’s report frames the event around reducing dependence on Asian imports and strengthening Mexican and Nuevo León suppliers. That makes the expo a small but concrete read on how large buyers are widening their sourcing conversations while trade conditions remain unsettled.
What to watch
The next useful data point will be conversion: how many of the meetings become purchase orders or new supplier relationships after the event. The program also includes more than 80 conferences and panels, including sessions on artificial intelligence and digitalization.
